Bringing Neighbors Together

TELMAS will feature a remarkable man

In August of 1962,  Del E. Webb was  on the cover of TIME Magazine  with the banner  "THE RETIREMENT CITY A New Way of Life for the Old."   In that issue, he was quoted saying,  "I don't know what to do with myself these days.  I'm supposed to be old—I was 65 last fall—but God knows I don't feel old. The company is right about the retirement age, I suppose; it has to make places for younger men. But what happens to us?"       As residents of  Del Webb Glenbrooke, we know he figured it out.   But how did he get there?

Find out more about his fascinating man by attending this month's TELMAS on Wednesday  January, 9, 2013.    Kayo Armstrong  will present “The Legacy of Del E. Webb, The Man, His Ideas, and His Company”.       Born in Fresno May 17, 1899,  he was a son of a farmer, high school drop out, ship fitter, owner of the New York Yankees amoung other things  and lived until July 4, 1974.       You won't want to miss this  fascinating story!

TELMAS starts promptly at 6:00PM in the Arbour Lodge.    All Glenbrooke residents and guests are welcome to attend this free presentation.  refreshments will be served.

If you know someone with an interesting story to share,  please call TELMAS, Chair,  Don Marler.
