Have received correspondence from CSD regarding this and answered them with specific details. Will see if there isn't something that can't be worked out so this doesn't happen again. Throwing it into AJ's hands now if they need more details. Have to support our SENIOR BASEBALL ASSN. & Elk Grove........and I might also ask that you let us know when you're having those games so we can come out and support you.

I'm working it now...have had two replies from people with the city that are following through. The parks are governed by CCSD. Also being forwarded to the Elk Grove Executive Team. This is costing businesses in EG a lot of money. Will keep you informed when more info is made available. Possible nothing can be done....but you have to at least try. If AJ hadn't said anything, we (citizens) wouldn't even know there was a problem.

July 31st and August 1st. Two weeks later nearly a hundred clubs played in the Cal Cup for the Claifornia Championship. Teams played in Davis, Woodland, and throughout Sacramento. Elk Grove hasn't been in the mix for years because of the fees they charge. Seems to me that you charge eight hundred for a two day tournament you make a lot more than if you charge sixteen hundred and the fields remain empty. As for the high school games, they probably get a better price than us senior citizens.

Just three days after the park was 1st open my ball club played at the new park, the cost for our tournament was 0. A month later we were to play there again but the park raised the price to 00. Clubs were shifted elsewhere, Yuba City, Roseville, and Sacramento. We had clubs coming in from Oregon and Nevada, but because of the CSD greed the city lost out on a lot of revenue, food sales, gas, lodging, etc. I hope they learned a lesson and that the fees are dropped back to a more reasonable rate.

Running since 9 a.m....too many events so we had to split up. Jack's in Yuba City doing the soccer tournament and I took the political kick-off and then to the Park. If you were unable to go this morning, it's a must see. Absolutely beautiful...they had free hotdogs and cake for everyone. Softball tournament was going on and soccer games too. Have two snack bars, covered areas for resting & eating and the seating is also covered. Drive over some nice afternoon and walk it or ride your bicycle. You'll be amazed I'm sure. May be a little expensive for the upkeep though. Wonderful place to take your small grandchildren since there is a large play area and many play structures. Now it's nap time for me until 6 p.m. and then I'll hit it again.....Yuba City again tomorrow.
