Bringing Neighbors Together

What is Meet Up?

meet up name tagAccording to the website,  Meetups are neighbors getting together to learn something, do something, share something........        Gosh, what fits an active retirement community better than that mission?

So we tried using Meetup.com for the  Tri Tip dinner reservations and payments.   It worked very well.   The website handles all RSVPs, has a discussion board for each event, prints receipts for payments, lets you know who else may be attending the event, sends reminders, and even gathers feedback after the event.       The only down side is it is not accessible for those not on the internet.

What kind of  future events can we anticipate on our own Meetup group ,Glenbrooke Fun Lovers?    Anything you want!   Movies, trips, concerts, fundraisers, bike rides, workshops, outdoor activities, service projects or whatever we want to organize.    If you would like to schedule an event,  just give Darcie Gore a call and I will give you a password to post the event.   It can be in the future or spur of the moment.

How can you be included in all the fun?   Simply sign up for Glenbrooke Fun Lovers HERE.   There is no membership fee.    You need to enter your contact information.     You will be notified of all upcoming events via email.       In addition, you will have access to other Meet Ups in the area the might be of interest to you. whether it is quilting, food lovers, wine tasting or kayaking.

It is important to understand that Meetup is in no way affliated with Pulte, Del Webb, or Glenbrooke Community Association.   Meetup is the world's largest network of local groups. Meetup makes it easy for anyone to organize a local group or find one of the thousands already meeting up face-to-face. More than 9,000 groups get together in local communities each day, each one with the goal of improving themselves or their communities
