Bringing Neighbors Together

GLENBROOKE’S “TEAM TRASH” MAKES FRANKLIN CREEK A “LITTER BIT” BETTER!

On Saturday morning, April 13, seventeen of Glenbrooke's finest came together for community service. Volunteers organized to remove litter from the Whitelock Parkway canal running from Bruceville Road to Big Horn Boulevard and the smaller canal running from Big Horn Boulevard to Acorn Park –nearly 3 miles of waterway!

Glenbrooke's contribution was part of a larger citywide effort by the Cosumnes Community Services District to clean Elk Grove waterways. Volunteers included George Beitzel, Paul Fogle, Walt and Sharon Hess, Peter Gaffney, Jim Gore, Mary Houston, Carol Lambert, Paul and Pat Lujan, Gil and Cheryl Mello, Ron Molohan, Chris Norwood, Bart Raudebaugh, Rich Vencill, and Bob Williams.
trashThe three crews completed the job in about two hours. Paul Fogle won the Fashion Division award for his creative "CalTrans orange" T-shirt.

Thanks to all of you who helped beautify our community. It was a pleasure to participate in this service project with such enthusiastic Glenbrooke neighbors!

  1. This year the canal is loaded with California Poppies. If you don't usually walk next to the canal, you might find it a pleasant place to amble. Up close the red clover is pretty impressive too - I've never noticed it from the sidewalk. But more than anything, we exercised the rabbits - pretty soon they will have no where else to go...

  2. How about you upload the picture on Patch with Del Webb/Glenbrooke Community as description. We're always referrred to as Del Webb and no one knows who the Glenbrooke Community even is. just a thought...........
