Bringing Neighbors Together

Dear Board Candidates and Members

We don't know who will be on the Board until after the election, but we would like to give the  candidates the opportunity to hear feedback directly from the members.   These folks are all our neighbors and VOLUNTEERS.   They deserve our thanks for their willingness to serve to make our community a better place to live.

GlenbrookeNews is  a forum all residents can use to provide feedback to candidates, board members and staff.   Remember they represent us - the homeowners.

To give feedback, click on the comment section below,  enter your first name and last initial and your email address (email addresses are not published or used for any other purpose) then write your comment,  question or suggestions.    Let's keep the feedback useful and positive.

  1. Okay, I will start for those that are shy.........

A number of people would like the option to pay their HOA dues either monthly or quarterly without having to ask for 'hardship' in order to pay monthly. Seems simple enough - don't want to lose good neighbors because it is hard to come up with 3 months advance HOA dues.

  2. We pay monthly....when they started the quarterly payments, we paid it the first time....and then immediately started paying monthly. When the quarterly payment was due the next quarter we were already up-to-date. We continue to pay monthly. Riverside Management knows that we are doing this and has no objection....we are always up-to-date. We have other friends who are doing the same thing.

  3. I would like to see option to pay by credit card....we like to earn miles or hotel points.

  4. Paying dues......follow the rules as written or ask for amendment! NOW.............

"Some" traits I look for in a candidate:
Can you act in the best interest of the association as a whole and put aside your personal interests or agenda on any given issue?
Listens respectfully to others and don't interrupt when homeowners feel strongly about an issue and give them an opportunity to express their concerns and even anger & never permit their personal feelings interfer with listening.
Never act as a Lone Ranger.
Remember that the board room is the place to debate association issues and never engage in verbal attacks. Is committed to governing with transparency and complies with the open meeting requirements and addresses the importance of ethics and integrity of the HOA.
Keeps your eye on the ball and follows through with goals, understands financial consequences of not planning for the future.

  5. Walt: We would like to gain points by use of the credit card too. But there is normally a transaction fee of around 3.5 % per transaction. One way or another that would probably come as cost to the associations income. george

  6. I want to take this opportunity to thank the residents that made the choice to run for the board. I know that it takes a lot of time and energy to run and then if you actually win... Wow!! What a commitment that will be!! Thank you for having what it takes to help make Glenbrooke a wonderful place to live.
