Apple in a bag

submitted by Norma L

1 small apple (Golden Delicious or Granny Smith are my favorite)
1 packet of sweetener or a spoonful of sugar (vanilla sugar maybe)
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
Small handful of raisins, optional

Peel or don’t peel apple, core and slice or dice. Place in freezer-quality plastic zippered bag along with remaining ingredients. Seal bag and shake well to mix ingredients.
Reopen bag just a touch to vent. Microwave on High for 2 minutes– longer if you use a big apple.
Carefully (it will be HOT and steamy) open bag and pour over plain or cinnamon-sugar pita chips, flour tortilla chips, oatmeal or ICE CREAM.

Thought this sounded interesting and everyone always has an apple hanging around...anything that can go into the microwave or hubby can cook on the grill has to be a winner!:-)

  1. Just gave this a try for our afternoon picker-upper... sooo easy & good. One apple was good for both of us over ice cream. It does get HOT to handle so be careful. May try an unpeeled apple the next time w/grind of pepper. Just used an apple I had, ?? what kind--it was red. Apples an apple, right? :-)

  2. Just tried it on vacation. It is a great way to get another fruit - we just served it as a side for dinner

  3. LOL......Tomorrow night you can try the 5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake.

Sorry kids, your Mom & Dad's are off to big and better more cream pies or cakes dripping with icing. If you can't nuke it, it's not n the menu.
