Pulte Stock Recovering?
At the close of the market yesterday, Pulte stock was listed at $8.59 a share, up from a low in the 4th quarter of last year of $3.54 (a gain of 242%).
What could account for such a drastic change?
While Pulte still lost money in 2011 (55 cents per share), it lost far less than any of the prior four years(which ranged from $9.02 to $2.90 lost per share).
And while total sales were down from 2010, market share was up, as new home sales in the U.S. declined to the lowest level since at least 1962 and a decline of approximately 77% from the 2005 peak.
