KUDOS to the MINGLES Volunteer Steering Committee!
Approximately 100 neighbors enjoyed a taste of Italy tonight at the Arbour Lodge. Sponsored by the MINGLES for the entire Glenbrooke community, the dinner consisted of spaghetti with great homemade sauce (by Vickie Glaser) salad, bread and even ice cream/cookie dessert. The meal was served at the tables, no waiting in line!
The tables were covered with red table clothes and wine bottle candles helped set the stage. Italian music played in the background - soft enough that people could talk with each other over dinner. The food was hot and yummy.
After dinner, we were treated to Bocce ball history and demonstrations. Some teams quickly formed and the the crowd cheered.
It was quite an evening for only $5.00 and everyone seemed to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and having the opportunity to visit and meet new friends.
Steering Committee members are: Vickie Glaser, Linda Hargan, Alice McCargo, Karen Wolff, Becky Matson, Linda Knoll, Sharon Forcum, and Sue Bristol. In addition, there were spouses and volunteers to help make this such a successful evening.

Looks like I missed another great event. When reading that Vickie "made" the spaghetti sauce for 100 servings, the first thing that came to mind was "bottle that stuff - that's our answer to offset THE USER FEES."
(SORRY, just couldn't resist.................weeell, not really!)
I just want to say "thank you" to all the steering committee members, spouses, etc., for a bang-up job at the spaghetti feed. The food, ambiance, "mingling" with our friends and neighbors, was a great time for all.
