Bringing Neighbors Together

Do you have your carbon monoxide detector?

The City of Elk Grove’s Building Department would like to remind Elk Grove residents of a new state law that took effect this month, requiring all single-family homes to have a carbon monoxide detector in

place.  The Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Prevention Act requires homeowners to install the detectors or face possible fines of up to $200.  Carbon monoxide is known as a “silent killer” because it is odorless, colorless and tasteless.  Carbon monoxide detectors are easy to install and are available at most home improvement stores.
