Bringing Neighbors Together

Website update

First, I have to admit it was nice to take the weekend off of the daily duties of posting on Glenbrookenews.    I realized that since launching Glenbrookenews on August 20, 2009  I had never taken a day off.   Even when we travel I have posts ready to go and have my smart phone to log in to post.

I had to smile at Norma's post in the forums, she is ever my defender and I appreciate her contributions and keeping me on my toes too.   This is a good time to thank George Beitzel and all those that do send in articles, tidbits, jokes, suggestions etc.   Without you it would be an impossible tasks to have a neighborhood daily newsletter.

Norma is right,  it takes a village (or in this case 5 of them) to keep this website going.   We know there are so many talented people out there with interesting hobbies and careers and we would love to hear from you - one time or regularly.  While it would be nice to have more comments and some dialog, I know people are reading by the statistics below.

I would love to have someone take over the  " Hello my name is.." section where maybe once a month we get to know one of our neighbors a little better.  No experience needed, just an interest in people.  It was well received,  I just don't have the time to keep it up.

Okay, enough play, time to get back to business.   Below are the statistic of monthly page views.   As you can see we continue to grow with the neighborhood.    Remember 'page views' are not the same as people.  If you clicked on three stories that would count as three.

  1. There are four topics that I can think of to create conversations - Race*Sex*Religion*Politics*. Believe we covered one earlier - Religion*, that stirred a healthy debate, even getting somewhat off topic, which often happens. Perhaps we could cover Sex* next since that is a hot topic in CA at the present time.

IMO, the number of viewers is somewhat misleading.......many could be from the Congo, shaking their heads, wondering where in the heck is that Glenbrooke place with all the old people playing cards and having potlucks & eating ice cream. :-) Oh, well, life goes on!
