Bringing Neighbors Together

Theater Go’ers Updates

by Teri Bacon WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO…

The Theatergoers are Glenbrooke residents who love live theater.  We focus on small regional theater productions.  Our plan is to carpool to events and perhaps enjoy a meal, dessert or a drink together following the play.

The steering committee includes Terri Bacon, Jane Bowerman, Alice McCargo, and  Lynda Gronich.

Plaid Tidings Update

As this is being written the cast for our sold-out December play, Plaid Tidings, is rehearsing in Folsom instead of Roseville.  We learned with sadness that Civic Theater West (formerly Magic Circle) had closed its doors, leaving a cast and play without a venue.  Sutter Street Theater in Folsom has come to the rescue.  Although there were no matinees planned in Folsom, the cast has agreed to add one for us on Sunday December 5 at 1:00.  Hurrah!

A Glenbrooke Murder Mystery Potluck

February

Watch for more information about the date for this Valentine’s Day themed murder mystery dinner.  Come help decide which of the  suspects had a motive for a murder.  The Theatergoers will be working with Erin on this event.   If you would like to help please see Erin.  Suspects and support players needed.

WHAT’S NEXT?

We have chosen plays for January and March.  Reservations for both plays will be taken the week of December 5th only.  After that, participants will be placed on a waiting list.

HAIRSPRAY

Runaway Stage

The Broadway production of this musical comedy won eight 2003 Tony awards, including Best Musical. The new York Times said “If life were everything it should be, it would be more like HAIRSPRAY. It’s irresistible.“ All those who attend the play are invited to an after-theater gathering at the home of one of Glenbrooke’s residents.

LES MISERABLES

Saturday March 26  at 2:00

Franklin High School

$7.00

On March 26th we will attend a matinee performance of Les Miserables at Franklin High School. If you attended the spring musical, Hello Dolly, last year you know why we are returning. The students did an outstanding job. Tickets $7.00

NEXT GENERAL MEETING - April 3 at 3:00. Sign-ups for Spring/Summer plays. Information about future events.
