Problems with Your GE Dishwasher Smart Dispense? Read This!
by Rose Ann Marchi
Just in case there are some homeowners whose dishwashers have the GE Smart Dispense, and they have been using them, they need to check and make sure that they aren't "all clogged up"!
We noticed that our glasses weren't looking good and were water spotted so we checked the dispenser - what a mess! It was all clogged. The lid on the dispenser says, "Do not mix Chlorine and Enzymes Detergents", which we didn't. But, we think what happened is the Government made Proctor and Gamble take the phosphates out of Cascade Complete. We called Proctor and Gamble and were told that this change was made to this product in July and this is what caused our problem.
Our neighbor used this "smart dispense" and had trouble before the change because they were using one with bleach. They had to have the whole dispenser replaced.
After our problem was discovered last week, they checked theirs again and guess what? It was all clogged up. GE came out today and had to replace the thing again.
If anyone is interested there are instructions on how to use the GE Smart Dispense Machines at http://cascadeclean.com/en_US/gesmartdispense.do.
We are working with GE and Cascade to pay for any repair bills.

Thanks for the Information. I wonder, has anyone had trouble with glasses breaking? What is the secret to loading the top shelf of our machines?
Hmm, we haven't had a problem here but it seemed we were always breaking glasses in in our old house. Oh wait, the kids were still home then
