New E-mail ALERTS Available from Elk Grove
Elk Grove, CA – The City of Elk Grove has expanded the email and text alert program, providing more options for residents to stay informed about city news and issues.
The service allows visitors to the City's website to receive real-time information via email or text message notifications. The menu of alert subscriptions is available by simply clicking the icon on the City home page or the link provided below.
The email and text alerts send information directly to an email account or cell phone number on a variety of City issues, and can be customized based on areas of interest.
Subscribers have already signed up for nearly 30,000 email or text alerts for City information, including e-tran rider alerts, road closures and construction updates, business license reports, City Council meeting agendas, City job opportunities, press releases, and much more.
The City has introduced a host of new updates, including election information, monthly building permit reports, planning project updates, and bid results.
“The City’s email and text alert program is one more way the City of Elk Grove has strengthened the lines of communication between the City and the community," said Mayor Sophia Scherman. "We continue to add more tools in our tool belt to better communicate with residents in a timely manner using new technology.”
Signing up for alerts is free and takes only moments. To receive email and text updates, users should simply provide the email address or cell phone where they would like the notifications to be sent. If already receiving email notifications, a user can change the email address, modify the password, add or delete subscriptions, or remove the email address from this service.
The City’s email and text alert program is voluntary. Phone numbers and email addresses collected during the registration process will never be used for purposes other than sending email and text alerts, and will remain confidential.
