Officers from the Elk Grove Police Department’sProblem Oriented Policing Unit will be available to answer questions from members ofthe community on August 20, 2010 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Starbucks (2300Longport Court) and Nugget Market (7101 Elk Grove Blvd.) as part of the “Coffee witha Cop” program.The “Coffee with a Cop” program is a unique way to strengthen the partnership betweenthe police department and the community it serves. “It’s very important that our policeofficers develop strong relationships within the community,” said Elk Grove Police ChiefRobert Lehner. “We believe that this type of open dialogue plays a critical role inestablishing a true partnership between the community and the police department.”Members of the community will be able to ask specific or general questions related to theneighborhoods they live in.For additional information, please contact Crime Prevention Specialist Denise Costello at(916) 478-8117 or Sergeant Dan Schnepple of the Problem Oriented Policing at (916)478-8116.
