Glenbrooke Does the Swim, Twist and Locomotion

Dancing the 'swim'
A sellout crowd - many in patriotic attire - attended the Glenbrooke July 4th Kick-off event last night. The highlight of the evening was having so many dancing to the toe tapping music from the Do wop era provided by Frankie and the Fabletones.
The food was catered by Hickory Hanks, and included BBQ ribs, chicken, potato salad, Caesar salad, BBQ beans and dinner rolls. Erin served dessert of ice cream sandwiches. It was nice to be able to sit and visit over dinner (and hear conversations) in the cool ballroom as the band was outside. Following dinner, the breeze and feet kicked up as people went out to the patio to enjoy the music.
This is normally where I would try to post some pictures, (the one at the top is a Google image). Tthe truth is I was having such a nice time I totally forgot to take any pictures. If you have pictures you would like to share, please email them to newsofglenbrooke@gmail.com. I know Erin took some pictures so hopefully we will see some on Ourglenbrooke.net or the Gazette.
One of the nicest things about events like the one last night was getting to meet brand new neighbors – one couple moved in on Tuesday! I think they should get a prize for attending an event, 3 days after moving in!
