City Announces Plans for 4th of July Fireworks Show
14th Annual Salute to the Red, White & Blue to be held at Elk Grove Regional Park
Elk Grove, CA – This year, the City of Elk Grove is hosting the 14th annual Salute to the Red, White & Blue fireworks show at Elk Grove Regional Park. This event is Elk Grove’s premier Fourth of July celebration— a patriotic salute to the birth of our nation and recognition of the City’s 10th anniversary.
The festivities begin at 3 p.m. with live music, entertainment, food and a children’s area.
Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. A new firing location based at the Kloss Softball Complex will light up the skies over Elk Grove Regional Park.
Admission is free, and parking is $10 per vehicle. Gates open at 7 a.m. Drivers should enter Elk Grove Regional Park at the Main Gate off Elk Grove-Florin Road. The Elk Grove Police Department will release traffic information later this week.
Alcohol, personal fireworks and pets are not permitted (excluding service dogs).
Entertainment on the Main Stage at Strauss Island will include the following activities:

Members of the Elk Grove City Council will formally recognize the City’s 10th Anniversary and celebrate the unveiling of the Elk Grove Community Time Capsule at 6:30 p.m. After more than two years of hard work, the Elk Grove Historical Society and the Time Capsule Committee will display all the items to be included in the time capsule, which will be opened in 2035. For more information about the time capsule, visitwww.egtimecapsule.com. The program will also feature the national anthem by local resident Sheryl Tolson and a performance by 10-year-olds from Encore Studio of Performing Arts.
The birthday cake decorating contest judging and announcements will take place at 5:30 p.m., and will feature the best-of-the-best City of Elk Grove birthday cakes. There’s still time to enter. The deadline for entry forms is June 25. Cakes will be judged on taste, appearance, and how well it represents the City of Elk Grove. The City of Elk Grove will be running special transit service all day on July 4. In celebration of the City’s 10thAnniversary, all transit service will be free to the public, compliments of the City.
Our popular “shopper shuttle” will be back with extended hours. The route loops the City, traveling Laguna Blvd., Harbor Point Drive, Elk Grove Blvd., and Bradshaw Road. Service will be available from 7 a.m. to midnight, and the route will operate in both directions every 45 minutes. In addition, the shuttle will link to three shuttles designed to connect to Elk Grove Regional Park. Maps, routes and further information about the Red, White and Blue Shuttles can be found at www.elkgrovecity.org/rwb.
Paratransit service will be available on a reservation only basis for ADA certified passengers from 7 a.m. until midnight. Reservations may be made beginning July 1 and will be taken through 5 p.m. on July 3. For reservations or questions, call 68-etran or 683-8726.
Continue to watch the website for maps and updated stop locations. In addition, transit staff will be issuing Rider’s Alerts to all passengers with information on how to use the system.
