Another Amazing TELMAS STORY
By Vickie Glaser
On Wednesday, June 9th Sue Faccoila spoke to the Glenbrooke neighborhood about her career with the Department of Corrections. Sue was one of the first female officers with the Department and rose through the ranks to Chief of the Prison Hostage Rescue Team located within Headquarters. She was instrumental in refining the agility test to encourage more women to become members of the hostage rescue team. The hour long presentation was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience and fielded many questions. Glenbrooke neighbors enjoyed cookies, brownies, pizza and wine donated by the volunteers on the TELMAS team.
Next month on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, Don Marler will tell us about two Vietnam combat missions in the AC-130 Gunship. Don was in the Air Force for twenty-two years. One year he served as a Television Operator and Fire Control Officer on this four-engined flying artillery platform.
If anyone has a story they would like to share with their Glenbrooke neighbors, contact Don Marler at 684-6654.
