Bringing Neighbors Together

Cupcakes anyone?

The Food Network will be featuring entrepreneur Candace Nelson on a new show called “Cupcake Wars.”

Nelson launched her cupcake shop, Sprinkles, in Beverly Hills, Calif., in 2005 along with her husband, Charles, aUniversity of Arizona graduate.

Today, the cupcake bakery has locations in key cities, including Newport Beach, Calif.; Dallas; and Scottsdale, and sells its products at more than 250 Williams Sonoma stores.

Nelson will be one of two permanent judges on the Food Network’s new show, which is set to debut June 15.

She will be joined on the judging panel by Florian Bellanger, chef and co-owner of online macaroon company MadMac. Each week the show will also feature a third guest judge. Justin Willman will host.

The show will feature some of the country’s top cupcake bakers facing off in three elimination challenges. The show offers winners a $10,000 prize and the opportunity to showcase their sweets at some type of celebrity, sporting or gala event.

P.S. I purchased the Sprinkles Cupcake Mix at Williams-Sonoma $ 14.00, anxious to try.
