Bringing Neighbors Together

Are you caring for someone with dementia?

One of the most challenging experiences for a caregiver is to try to effectively communicate with a loved one with dementia.   How should you handle the challenging behaviors and frustration of the same questions over and over?

There is an FREE educational workshop for caregivers and seniors offered by Mary Gillon, Regional Director of Alzheimer’s Association of Northern Nevada-Northern California.

The event is designed to help you communicate compassionately with your loved one.         The workshop will be presented on Wednesday, June 2nd from 10:00 AM to 11:30AM at the Elk Grove senior Center located at 8830 Sharkey Avenue in Elk Grove,

To register for this event call the Alzheimer’s Association at (916) 930-9080

To read Dale Carter's blog about her 15 minute experience with dementia click here.  Ms. Carter took a "Virtual 15 minute tour" with dementia.    I might add that this was also how I felt after my stroke and even now when there is too much stimulation.   All caregivers should  take 15 minute tour  for better understanding.
