Bringing Neighbors Together

Questions for Board Candidates?

Elections are hard; especially if there are mandated time lines that one must follow to make the elections legal.   Such is the case with the Glenbrooke Community Association election for our next two Resident Directors.  While we have already been hearing about the elections for awhile, we don’t even know who is running, that is until tomorrow,  when the official announcement will be made.

In addition to annoucing  the candidates and following the election, Glenbrookenews will ask each of the candidates to submit a  a written position paper as well as answer the same 3 or 4 questions from residents.   Hopefully,  this will give residents a  chance to get to know all the candidates better.     We hope they will address what they hope to bring to the Board of Directors – after all they represent us on the Board.

I want to personally thank all the individuals who have volunteered  to serve on our behalf.

Now, what questions would YOU like us to ask the candidates?

  1. Are you willing to hold monthly townhall meetings with residents to hear their concerns?

I ask this question as we have tried and tried to get the Board to hold meetings more frequently and in the evenings so all residents could attend. If our representatives on the Board were to hold monthly townhall type meetings they would be able to hear resident's concerns and be able to vote for the residents when issues come before them at the Board meetings.

  2. Have you reviewed the association finances, and do you think the assessments and funding for reserves are set at an appropriate level?

  3. To expand on Vickie's post....AFTER hearing residents concerns, can you VOICE those concerns publicly at the BOD's meetings and not be intimidated by the three Pulte employees. All we want is "just to be heard", NOT a "YES" man/woman.

Finances............now that's another problem and it seems most don't want to discuss it.......that "old blind faith" again! Of course it would help if we had all 12 months of 2009 available........I know, we have the YE statements. JM, but I get concerned when that is NOT made available.....just wonder why!

You know, I should contact our bank and tell them to just send a monthly statement when they have time...I'll have the year end....that's all I need. Assume you handled my funds correctly, I'll just enter the balance at 12-31-09 and start from there. Good heavens, it's a Bank, they don't make mistakes!

  4. 5/28 8:05: I just called over to the office and was told that they didn't know who was running yet. MIna won't get in until 9:30 or 10:00 AM. I will call her back then and post as soon as I can get the information.
