Bringing Neighbors Together

Communication Committee Members Announced

At the last Board of Directors meeting, directions were given for the formation of  a  Communications Committee.   The need for this committee was evidenced both  by the petition that was circulated among residents and the results of the on-line survey conducted  by the association in February/March.

The members of the Committee are Bill Elliot, Jim Morris, Linda O'Hara, Kent Sherwood  and Harold Wheeler.     The Committee has identified their focus  as improving communication to/from the Board of Directors in the following areas:

1) Interpretation of CC&R's and potential changes to them.

2) Changes to the following:

- use of common areas and facilities

- financial requirements ( monthly fees, use fees, dues, etc)

-personal property uses (landscaping requirements, common area plantings, etc)

-communication processes for individual concerns with the association.

You are encouraged to provide input or discuss any concerns with members of the Committee.

We would like to thank our neighbors for volunteering for this important Committee and we look forward to the positive impact improved communication will have on our neighborhood.

  1. Just a little input -

I think it would be valuable for the association to have all governing documents indexed on the web site, so that homeowners and staff could quickly reference specific sections of interest. (currently, most are image files which can't be computer-searched).

  2. I like Vivckie's question for the Board Candidates.
Are you willing to hold monthly town hall type meetings?

I believe this would take care of 80% of the concerns and questions residents have for the Board.

For example, while we have been pushing to have the pool open in May, I am concern they are goiing to look at the numbers for this spring and say, "No one is using the pool during the extended hours" Willl they take into consideration the really weird unusual weather we have had this year (next year will probably be in the 100's in May)?

Also, we were TOLD the lodge hours would be extendedd until 9:00PM nightly. Yea for the extension -but why weren't the Llodge users polled as to the hours they wanted?

Just my opinion , but It would make a lot more sense to me be open 8Am to 8PM on Sunday, and give those two extra hours to staying open until l 10:00PM on Friday and Saturday nights.

I am very excited to have this committee in place. When is your next meeting?

  3. Why is like pulling teeth to get information from the office? For example, the Board candidates were to be made public on May 28th. Two hours of calls to the office was frustrating at best, when the phone was answered , staff claimed not to know, Mina was not in, Erin's voice mail was on. This was during regular business hours.

Finally, while Mina was not in, she left a message for me saying to call Bart, who was not home. What was the big deal to confirm the six names?

Why not leave a note for staff that says, we are suppose to have this information available today. If anyone asks, here is the info..........?

This has happened repeatedly when staff either doesn't know the answer to questions or says they are not at liberty to say. (We are not talking personnel issues here, just routine Association members business).

  4. Maybe the same reason the erroneous page has been on the "official" website for two weeks + with no corrections...........

  5. Without doing some research...what percentage of the residents must cast their votes for the election to be legal? 51% or .........?

  6. Thank you Bart for the info.

  7. It has come to my attention that Kent Sherwood was left off the list here and on the Association Newsletter as a member of the Communication Committee.
My apologies to Kent and thank you for serving our community.
