Bringing Neighbors Together

How digusting!

A notice to dog owners and non-dog owners:    We have  been asked to remind Dog owners to be responsible.   Neighbors  have complained or reported to Neighborhood Watch that some residents do not always pick up after their dogs.  This seems to  especially be a problem in the empty lots where there are no homes  yet.

Please,  if you own a dog,  you need to be responsible  for it, and pick up after  - everywhere!    The City even provides  the trash cans and Mutt Mitts (but always carry your own in case the receptacle is empty).   If you are disabled and have trouble bending over,  there are inexpensive special tools designed for assisting in this tasks - no excuses.

A reminder to our non-dog owning neighbors,  female dogs squat to urinate.   Please be sure that there was solid waste left behind before you become concerned.

  1. I notice more and more "youngsters" walking their dogs through "our" parks and some don't bother to pick up after their pets. One woman I have noticed (while driving) is ALWAYS on a cell phone and leaves behind the evidence. I've been thinking about picking it up and dumping it on her car hood to see if she gets the hint. I have also noticed different people letting their pets run free in the fields and letting their pets piles land where they may probably because they figure no one will be walking in the fields.

  2. You are right AJ. We are now seeing just as many 'outsiders' walking their dogs as Glenbrooke residents.

  3. I suppose we would too since it is a lovely place to walk and even bring a picnic lunch with the kids to play in the Park when the weather gets nice. I remember our granddaughter loved to pack her lunch in a lunch pail or brown paper bag and go to the park. Of course then I had to drive to the park. Think we're only seeing the tip of the iceberg, wait until school is out and they finish that strip mall on Whitelock.

  4. JMO: Another barrier to our parks would be if they don't take the Floodplain out of the SOI people would be required to boat or swim the canal to get there.
