Things that make us smile

We all like cinnamon toast..right? Our granddaughter still loves it and every time I make it I think of an incident when she was maybe 2 - 3 years old. When she was at our house, being like most Nonna's & Pappa's, we let the little ones eat in front of the TV. Of course, what does she want for breakfast, cinnamon toast. After getting her set up on a tray, I'm back in the kitchen when she yells that she doesn't like her toast. Can't figure out why...she loves cinnamon toast. When I ask her why, she says it has ROCKS in it. My first thought is, oh my goodness, what is in that bread? After having her show me what she's talking about, I see I have, by mistake, bought bread with nuts or what the little ones might call ROCKS in it. To this day I still ask her if she wants the bread with the rocks in it or plain.

Things that make us smile.....not sure this fits here, but as told to me I had to smile!
This older couple who live here in EG..not Glenbrooke, found themselves like many others as we reach that ripe old age, one of us having health problems. In this case it is the wife who is confined in a wheelchair and needing part time in home care. The husband having to learn how to take care of daily things, such as laundry, cooking, grocery shopping, etc. The one chore is the cooking that he can't seem to master and while talking about it along with his wife, he started laughing and said "you know, what I think will probably get me in the end... I'll OD on Peanut Butter". So what did we get him for Christmas...Peanut Butter! His comment...trying to push me over the edge I see and we had another big laugh. Such a fun couple, still able to laugh at their situation.
