Twenty-three Glenbrooke residents enjoyed a Fall afternoon in Folsom on Sunday.   

There to watch the Agatha Christie production of  And Then there were none, some  of the Theater Go’ers group, took advantage of the nice weather for lunch or shopping in the quaint Old Town area before the play.

The play was held at the Stage 9 Theatre-Garbeau’s in the heart of Old Town Folsom.   The theater was  intimate and was sold out  (the play's run has been extended a week due to the popularity). 

Directed by Maggie Adair Upton, the play opens with the butler and maid welcoming 8 strangers to “soldiers island’ in the absence of the host and hostess.  Gathering in the drawing room later that night, the group hears a recorded voice accusing each of them of a specific murder committed in the past.    After comparing notes and their invitations to the island mansion, they discover that none have  actually met the hosts. Then one at a time, the guests are murdered.   A framed nursery rhyme,  “ Ten Little Soldiers” suggests the method of the next murder – adding to their fear.

While the production was not flawless, it was good community theater and there was some strong acting.
