Proposed Guest Fees Dropped!
Thanks to the many residents who took time to write to the Board of Directors, expressed their opinions on the message boards and took part in the poll here, it now appears the Board of Directors got the message loud and clear that the overwhelming majority of us did not want guest fees.
The Board of Directors deserve our thanks for listening to their members - especially our resident Board members, Leo Plumley and Les McCathy - who live here, and who listened patiently to their neighbors frustrations and even anger over the proposal.
Here is the "official" message from Mina sent to all Glenbrooke Residents:
Dear Glenbrooke Residents,
The Board has received comments regarding the draft guest policy. The comments reflect several concerns, but the majority of comments are objections to fees for guest use of the recreational facilities.Based on your comments, the Board plans to remove the fees/charges from the draft policy that will be heard on October 21st Board meeting. Thank you for your comments on this specific issue.
In addition, we will be holding an HOA governance information meeting on October 7th at 5:30 to better explain the process in which rules and policies are developed in order to better manage our community in the future.
Thank you,
Glenbrooke Community Association Board of Directors
This has been a good exercise in the importance of staying informed of HOA proceedings and reading Board documents in detail. Thanks to everyone who worked to keep the focus on the issue and special thanks to Bill Elliott who walked the entire neighborhood to make sure those without computers also had the information.

Fees being dropped is just one section of the Resolution. I think it is important for us to see the REVISED COPY of the Resolution in print and posted on the Glenbrooke web site. There were more concerns than just the fees.
If, as stated in an email from Mina, this Resolution is Amended, doesn't that mean the original August 12th Resolution if null and void? Also, doesn't this Amended Resolution have to be posted on the Glenbrooke Community Assoc. page and have another 30 days waiting period before becoming effective?

While this is wonderful news, it begs the question:
Is the entire 2009.009 resolution dropped or is there an amendment?
If there is an amendment, how does it read?
It would also have to be posted for 30 days but they may have just dropped the entire resolution.
Does anyone know?
The way I read it they're dropping the fees/charges portion of the Resolution. I assume everything else remains the same since it's not mentioned. We have to see the Amended Resolution.
I don't believe they can do anything. The Board directed them to post the resolution for 30 days. If they have an amendment, I would think the Board would need to approve the amendment and then direct them to post the amended resolution. I think it might be time to get some outside guidance regarding HOA policy other than from Pulte employees.
We were told at the clubhouse that the amendment would be posted next week. Stay tuned.
