There is a new contest at this year’s CSD Giant Pumpkin Festival of Elk Grove, October 3 and 4  at Elk Grove Regional Park.  Entry forms are now available.

This year’s festival theme is “Wild About Giant Pumpkins”. It is up to contestants to decide how best to interpret the safari/jungle theme in submitting a decorated pumpkin for the contest.

This contest is fun for individuals and families. There will be three categories to enter: Youth (individuals 12 and under), Teen (individuals 13-17), and Adult (individuals 18 and up). Prizes will be awarded to the top winner in each category. Prizes will also be awarded for Best Use of Theme and People’s Choice categories. All entries must be appropriate for a family audience. Entry forms and the $5 entry fee are due Sept. 25 and regulations are available on-line at www.yourcsd.com. For more information, contact Brittany Lemon at (916) 684-7550.

Entrants are responsible for bringing their decorated pumpkins to the CSD Giant Pumpkin Festival. All entries must be delivered and checked in by 9:30 a.m. on October 3, and remain on display until 5:00 p.m.  Winners will be announced at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 3.

The CSD GIANT Pumpkin Festival of Elk Grove willl be held Oct. 3-4, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Elk Grove Regional Park. Admission is free.  Parking is $10 or $5 with a coupon found  at www.yourcsd.com.
